The APDC brings together scientists and public health researchers in order to identify new pathogens, analyze potential risk level and rapidly develop new diagnostic testing. A commitment to vigilance and responsiveness is what defines APDC, and each partner is dedicated to identifying potential threats and sharing their findings.
Through this partnership, APDC strengthens its capacity to detect and prevent the next pandemic by supporting the next generation. Training future epidemiologists is key to prevent an outbreak from becoming a pandemic. TEPHINET is equally dedicated to strengthening countries' ability to detect, respond to, and control infectious disease threats, and the selected applicants will have the opportunity to actively participate in surveillance pathogen discovery in their respective countries from January to August 2022.
TEPHINET is a program of The Task Force for Global Health, a non-profit that is also driven to support global collaboration that leads to strengthened protection for populations. The program is composed of 75 Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETPs) across multiple countries. APDC has partners around the world and will work with TEPHINET to ensure that selected FETP fellows have an enriching, productive experience as they conduct their research.
This fellowship could help prevent history from repeating itself.
Letters of Interest are due to TEPHINET by 11:45 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on October 18, 2021.
